NO LOVE FLOWING HERE:
THE BELLAMY BROTHERS ARE MIFFED BY THE USE OF A RE-RECORDED VERSION OF THEIR CLASSIC 1976 HIT “LET YOUR LOVE FLOW” ON TV ADS RUN BY CALIFORNIA DEMOCRATIC GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE PHIL ANGELIDES
* * *
The Florida Based Legendary Country Duo, Loyal Republicans Who Have Performed The Song Numerous Times In Support Of President Bush, Have Offered To Perform It Live For Angelides' Opponent, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger

Legendary country duo The Bellamy Brothers may be registered to vote in Florida, but they've offered to perform their classic 1976 pop hit “Let Your Love Flow” for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in response to its unauthorized use in TV ads for Scharzenegger's opponent Phil Angelides.

David and Howard Bellamy are lifelong Republicans who performed the song for President Bush in support of his campaigns in 2000 and 2004 and at other times for Vice President Dick Cheney and Florida Governor Jeb Bush. The siblings are upset that Angelides, California's Democratic nominee for governor, is using an unauthorized, re-recorded version of the song in an ad that takes the state's voters through the highlights of his life and career.

“We don't mind our song being used for political ads,” says Howard. “We just wish it was by our own party's candidate. A real winner would have used the original version.”

David adds, “We're not California voters, but since we have been associated with the race with our song, we'd have to say we throw our support behind the Terminator.”

In response to Angelides' commercial, The Bellamy Brothers emailed Governor Schwarzenegger's office on Wednesday to inform him that the ad was a re-recorded version of “Let Your Love Flow” using different singers. They made clear that they do not endorse Angelides for governor, and have offered to perform the song live for Schwarzenegger at any time during his campaign—“the original version by the original artist.”

Although The Bellamy Brothers song makes the TV ad shine, Angelides couldn't have picked a bigger supporter of President George W. Bush to highlight his campaign. The band performed at multiple rallies for Bush in 2000 and 2004, and sang the National Anthem at the Liberty Ball during Bush's 2005 inaugural. The Republican Party of Florida honored the band for supporting Bush in 2000 and 2004.

In 2005, the highly honored country duo released Angels & Outlaws, Vol. 1 , a recording that marked the initial release of the Bellamy Brothers' two-disc retrospective celebrating the 30th anniversary of “Let Your Love Flow,” their first number one hit. To commemorate the occasion, Howard and David assembled a wide array of guest artists, including Alan Jackson, Dolly Parton, George Jones, and Tanya Tucker, to add a new twist to several of their most recognizable hits.

Single is a Track on the Bellamy Brothers Latest CD Angels & Outlaws Volume 1

The Bellamy Brothers received some good news this week. The first song from their CD Angels & Outlaws Volume 1 (Curb Records) “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body” has entered the Billboard Radio Chart for the first time since its debut in 1979. Howard and David had some help with the lyrics on the songs from long-time friend Dolly Parton.

According to David Bellamy, “Dolly was not only an incredible professional in the studio; she was the also the most fun! Howard and I have always been her biggest fans so it was like Christmas having her sing with us on one of our hits. ‘Beautiful Body' has always been an enduring hit but, with Dolly's interpretation, it's new all over again.”

Some of the lyrics from “If You Said You Had A Beautiful Body” were featured in a Blender Magazine story on songs used as pick-up lines in Los Angeles bars.  Use of the lyrics apparently delivered “home-run” results.

THE BELLAMY BROTHERS COUNTRY MUSIC DUO MAKES HISTORY BY SCORING THE TOP 3 SLOTS ON EUROPE 'S HOTDISC CHART

The Bellamy Brothers have achieved another first; they dominate the Top 3 on this week's Hotdisc Chart . The chart is compiled by the top DJs who vote for their favorite cuts from the current Hotdisc releases which are being promoted in Europe .  The DJs themselves get together to voice their approval of the new songs by rating each new record out of 10, and the Bellamy Brothers' duet with Alan Jackson, " “You Ain't Just Whistlin' Dixie" has received a huge 8.86% rating across the board from this week's DJ reports , the second highest score since the Hotdisc chart began.

The Bellamys' new entry at #1 with Alan Jackson is not the complete story for them this week. That song knocked their own "Let Your Love Flow" (recorded with Lisa Brokop and Hal Ketchum) off the top spot as it slips to #3, and their other plug track from their current CD " Angels & Outlaws Vol. 1 ", namely "Old Hippie" (another collaboration - this time with Montgomery Gentry), slides in at #2 this week.

The Bellamy Brothers are right up there with the Brooks and Dunn and The Judds as one of the most successful international duos in country music history. Over the years, the duo has toured extensively and developed a huge fan base in over 35 countries in Europe & Asia. The Bellamys have also entertained the troops at numerous overseas military bases. They recently performed concerts at bases in South Korea . The Bellamys leave on June 30th for a tour of Switzerland , Italy , Norway and England .

This week's Hotdisc chart:

1           You Ain't Just Whistlin' Dixie - Bellamy Brothers  & Alan Jackson
2           Old Hippie - Bellamy Brothers & Montgomery Gentry
3           Let Your Love Flow - Bellamy Brothers   with Lisa Brokop & Hal Ketchum
4           Blessing In Disguise - Gretchen Peters & Bryan Adams
5           Texas Tea - Mike Lee
6           My Give A Damn's Busted - Joe Dee Messina

Proclaim to Brooks & Dunn “It Wasn't Us!”

The Bellamy Brothers ( www.bellamybrothers.com ) heard that during a recent WSM-AM broadcast reporting on the theft of Brooks & Dunn's ACM trophies, the on-personalities joked that “it was probably The Bellamy Brothers since they've never won an ACM award!”

According to David Bellamy, on tour with brother Howard to promote their latest duets CD Angels & Outlaws Volume 1 “We sympathize with Kix & Ronnie! We've been nominated twenty times for CMAs and ACMs and have never won, so we know how it feels to be robbed of an award!”

THE BELLAMY BROTHERS Had A Favorite In This Weekend's Kentucky Derby - George Steinbrenner's “Bellamy Road ”

The Bellamy Brothers were rooting for a particular horse in yesterday's Kentucky Derby, “ Bellamy Road ,” owned by Yankees owner George Steinbrenner. Unfortunately, Howard and David Bellamy's namesake's victory hopes were trounced by 50-1 long shot “Giacomo.”

David Bellamy summed it up best, “Always in the running but no win! It's kind of like us at the CMA and the ACM Awards.”

2005 marks the 30 th anniversary of The Bellamy Brothers soaring to the top of the pop charts with their mega-hit “Let Your Love Flow.” They hit the top of the country charts with “If I Said You had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me)”. A string of gold and platinum records followed as they racked up fourteen number one hits. David and Howard Bellamy have been juggling time between touring and recording their just released duet project Angels and Outlaws Volume 1 (Curb Records) Thirty plus guest artists from many genres of music, such as Alan Jackson , Montgomery Gentry, Hal Ketchum, Lisa Brokop, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Pat Green, Trini Triggs, George Jones, Chris Hillman, Herb Pederson, Rhonda Vincent, Tanya Tucker, David Allan Coe, Charlie Daniels, Bobby Bare and John Anderson , have recorded their vocals on over twenty of the Bellamys greatest hits and three new selections for a two disc series.

THE BELLAMY BROTHERS COMMENT ON THE

DEATH OF CHRIS LEDOUX

David Bellamy of the Bellamy Brothers shared some thoughts on the death of Chris LeDoux :

“Howard and I were very saddened to hear about Chris' death. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and family. Not only was he a great singer but he was also a very genuine person. We got a kick out of the fact that he sometimes performed ‘Redneck Girl' during his shows. We were all in the studio recently to work on a song for Angels & Outlaws . We spent most of the time swapping stories about ranching and cattle.”

The Bellamy Brothers

Angels & Outlaws

Cut x Cut

1. “You Ain't Just Whistlin' Dixie ” w/ Alan Jackson
David: “We were knocked over that he wanted to do the project. He told us that he used to do some of our songs in clubs and play them at soundcheck.”
Howard: “He had wanted to do ‘...Beautiful Body...', because he had done it so much, but Dolly had already recorded it, and she was so much more appropriate. We were really nervous because we had asked Alan, and we hoped that we wouldn't lose him because he had wanted to do a different song. We suggested this one, he liked it, so he was gracious enough to do it, which really worked out because he did such a great job on it.”

2. “Old Hippie” w/ Montgomery Gentry
Howard: “They used to do that song in clubs, and they didn't even have to rehearse it. That was the great part; some of the songs were so well-known. Matching up the song with the right artist was probably the biggest trick. They were such a natural for this one.”
David: “They came in and cut it with us and had a really good time. It wasn't even like work because they knew the song so well. They're a couple of wild and crazy guys. Eddie sang the whole song from top to bottom, and then Troy put harmonies on the track. Then we sat around shooting the bull for awhile, and after they left, we did our vocals.”

3. “Let Your Love Flow” w/ Hal Ketchum & Lisa Brokop
Howard: “Hal's a great singer, and his voice is a natural fit for this song. This particular song – how to choose someone for it, because it's such a monster. He really wanted to do it, and he has this great vibrato that stylizes the song very well, and he makes it his own. He's a good guy and a good friend.”
David: “Yeah he played at our jam two years ago down here in Florida. We've played a few dates with Lisa. Mike Curb had the idea of putting her on the song, and it worked out really great; she's a really good singer.”

4. “Guardian Angel” w/ Willie Nelson
David: “We had just cut the track, and he was the one we wanted to sing on it. We had played a date with him in Fargo , and Wally, our road manager, got a CD rough to his guy. We watched the show and said hello to Willie. You hate to hit on people, so we just left it. We went back to the hotel, and there was a message on the voicemail from Willie. I thought it was one of the band guys, because they had been goofing with us about all of these artists, and it didn't sound like Willie. My wife rang it back, and sure enough, it was Willie. And he said, ‘Hey, I love this song, and I want to do it really bad. It was one of those things that was meant to be, because it fell into place all at once. So we sent the tape to him, and we got the tape right back, and we thought, ‘That was easy.' We all forgot to discuss that there was a musical modulation on the end of the song. So he had sung one chorus, and we had to send the tape back and ask him to sing the modulation at the end of the song. [Laughing] I think Willie smoked a joint before the modulation.”
Howard: “You're asking somebody a big favor anyway, taking the time to do this, and then you have to ask them to do it again.”

5. “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me) w/ Dolly Parton
Howard: “You would expect someone of her stature to be hard to get to, but Dolly was the easiest and most professional. She came in well-rehearsed, and not only sang greatly, but she did great harmonies around our vocals. She had always wanted to record the song -- little did we know -- and was a fan of that song. We had a wonderful day. She came into the studio with us, and she can brighten anybody's day”
David: “Dolly was a lot of fun in the studio. If everything was like recording Dolly, it would have been a big picnic.”

6. “Redneck Girl” w/ Pat Green
David: “He's a really interesting artist. We've watched his career in Texas, because we've played there so much. We've watched him come up through the ranks from being an alternative country-college artist into the mainstream. He's got his own niche. It's Pat Green music and it's just what he does. We're really happy to have him on the record because of all this. We've played quite a few dates with him in Texas, and know a lot of the same people he knows, so it was a natural to do this song with him.”

7. “Dancin' Cowboys” w/ Trini Triggs
David: “He's a Texas artist that's been around the scene awhile. He's on Curb, and we've known him for several years. He's the real McCoy, and we thought this song would be a good one for him. Mike Curb brought Trini to the project, because he really believes in his talent.

8. “Sugar Daddy” w/ George Jones
David: “With George Jones singing, anything is great. We both love George. When we had the idea for this whole thing, George was the first one on the list. He was the ideal guy to do this song. We've known him for a long time, and played a lot of dates with him. When he agreed to do it, we were really happy. What can you say about George? He's just the best. He is George Jones and nobody's like him. When you hear George – and what we achieved with most of the tracks, is that when you hear the artists singing, you know who they are. And when you hear him singing, almost anyone on the planet knows it's George. And that's the kind of signature vocal that you dream about doing on a project like this.”

9. “Alligator Alley” w/ John Anderson
David: “It is one of our favorite tracks, and John is one of our favorite singers. We've actually performed the song with him in concert for the Seminole Indians in South Florida .”

10. “Crazy from the Heart” w/ Chris Hillman, Herb Pederson, and Rhonda Vincent
Howard: “I love the sound of this record. They're kind of a country rock and blue grass combination. We asked them to give it their flavor. Our original version was a little more country pop. They put different instruments on it, and it just really gave it a sound. Rhonda is just an incredible harmony singer. She can make anything sound blue grassy.”

11. “Reggae Cowboy” w/ Tanya Tucker & David Alan Coe
Howard: “We had the idea of doing Tanya and Coe – that's two really colorful characters--“
David: [Laughs] “--That's an understatement.”
Howard: “We've known him for many years, and he said, ‘Yeah, I'd love to do it,' so we sent him the track. He doesn't like studios--“
David: “He doesn't even come to town--“
Howard: “--He goes the truck route around Nashville [laughs] –“
David: [Laughs] “—I don't blame him.”
Howard: “And he lives on his bus in the casino parking lot –“
David: “--He's a pretty eccentric guy –“
Howard: “--and he has a recording studio on his bus. He got the music and couldn't open the file. Recording files nowadays -- you have to be a computer wiz to do it. So he bought a CD with the original version that we did, and he rapped over it. He recorded a rap over the original record . With Coe, you never know what he's gonna do. So we got the file back, and expected him to be singing lyrics and the chorus.”
David: “We were all in shock. We were like, ‘What the hell is this ?'
Howard: “It's the first vocal to have ever been sent to forensic music to dissect the track, and then fly in all the parts. Then we had Tanya come in, and you never know if she's gonna show up. She actually showed up a day-and-a-half late.
David: “It's one of the most colorful tracks on the album, and probably the most interesting to put together.
Howard: “It was pieced together in fragments, because Coe's rap had to flown into every little part and played on the beat. It was quite a feat for our engineers. So we got it! And all those rap lyrics are his, which are pretty interesting.”
David: “I like when he said, ‘You got to burn one and got to have some fun.' Those are pretty funny lyrics.”

12. “Kids of the Baby Boom” w/ Charlie Daniels and Bobby Bare
David: “Both of these artists are so classic.”
Howard: “And we've done a lot of international touring with both of these artists. What a lot of country fans don't realize in the states is that some artists are huge overseas. And Bobby is huge in Germany , throughout Europe , Switzerland , and because of that, we've done a lot of work overseas with him, and he's one of our favorite people. And we've done a lot of the military stuff with him.”
David: “We've even been to Japan with Charlie. We've done his volunteer jam every year, so we've known him for years and he and Bobby are like part of the family.”

SPEND CHRISTMAS AND NEWS YEARS EVE IN KOREA

PERFORMING FOR THE SOLDIERS WHO SACRIFICE THEIR HOLIDAYS & MORE FOR OUR FREEDOM

The Bellamy Brothers didn't hesitate a second when invited to go to Korea over the holidays to perform for the troops and their families.   To entertain as many soldiers stationed there as possible, the fast-paced tour kicked-off from Seoul, Korea's capitol on December 23rd and proceeded to Camp Walker in Taegu, Camp Casey and Camp Stanley in Dongducheon, Camp Page in Chuncheon, back to Seoul for a show at Yongsan Garrison, Camp Red Cloud in Uijonbu and the New Years Eve performance at Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, Korea.

Explains Howard Bellamy, “These soldiers and their families give up so much on a daily basis for our freedoms, it's the least we can do to come over here and help cheer them up during the holidays. Adds David Bellamy, “Besides that, people sometimes forget that the U.S. has forces all over the world. It's important to show these troops that the folks back home appreciate them and honor their efforts on behalf of us and our allies.”

Some of the highlights of the tour besides meeting with the soldiers, shopping, riding the bullet train and dining on the famous Korean BBQ included tours and demonstrations of the Apache and Blackhawk helicopters.  One of the pilots taking the Bellamys through an Apache was one of the first pilots to send bombs into Afghanistan.  At Camp Walker in Taegu, Commander DeCook, Area IV Support Activity presented the Bellamys with a plaque in appreciation for their performance there on December 23rd.  Some of the ROK (Republic of Korea) soldiers got to join the audience for the concerts and some asked to have their photos taken with Howard and David.
