TAMMY COCHRAN MISSES JERRY LEWIS AT LABOR DAY TELETHON
BUT "LIFE HAPPENED"
Tammy Cochran really appreciated being invited back this past Labor Day weekend, to sing "Life Happened," her current hit song, on the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon. But for Tammy there was someone missing
Jerry Lewis.
Due to his ongoing health concerns, Mr. Lewis wasnt able to be on camera that holiday morning at the time when Tammy was scheduled to perform. Last year after Cochran made her debut performance on the telethon with her big hit "Angels In Waiting," Mr. Lewis called her back on stage to explain that Cochran is one of his daughters favorite singers.
"It was fantastic to be part of the telethon again this year for such an important cause. To be one of the performers that morning along with Phil Vassar, Little Richard and Chicago was pretty exciting. I was hoping to see Jerry Lewis again this year and thank him for the wonderful things he said and having me on again. What he told the audience last time was one of those special moments of my career. See you next year Jerry!"
"Life Happened," Tammy Cochrans long-awaited new album is set for release October 15th by Epic Records Nashville.
COUNTRY MUSIC STAR TAMMY COCHRAN GUEST STARS WITH
BILLY RAY CYRUS IN ANGELS IN WAITING SPECIAL DOC EPISODE
BASED ON HER AWARD-WINNING SONG
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 2 ON PAX TV
(NEW YORK, NY) Country music singer/songwriter Tammy Cochran is garnering rave reviews for Life Happened, her sophomore album from Epic Records. But it's "Angels In Waiting," the title track from her first award-winning CD, that has led to her acting debut on "Doc," the #1 series on PAX TV starring Billy Ray Cyrus.
This special episode, also entitled "Angels In Waiting," is based on the song Tammy co-wrote as a tribute to her brothers, Shawn and Alan, who both passed away at a young age due to Cystic Fibrosis (CF). The music video from that song previously won Best Video awards from organizations such as Billboard magazine and received heavy rotation on music channels such as CMT and GAC. "Doc" producers Gary and Dave Johnson were touched by the songs lyrics, felt it was a very appropriate topic for the show, and decided that Cochran should actually appear in the episode. In the episode, Doctor Clint Cassidy, portrayed by Billy Ray Cyrus, enlists a Nurse's Aid named Amy (Tammy Cochran) to help him reach a cynical teen-age patient then discovers Amy needs some healing of her own. Viewers can tune into "Doc" on PAX TV, on Sunday, February 2 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) to learn more about the surprise plot and see Tammy perform "Angels in Waiting."
Explains Cochran, "I never thought my song would even be a single or get so much attention - let alone become the story-line for such a popular TV series. I respect the way Billy Ray and the shows producers portray dramatic and sometimes controversial topics in such a family-friendly manner. To say I'm looking forward to seeing the song come to life as a television program is an understatement. I'm sure it will be something that my brothers would have been very proud of."
Tammy will be on the road between Michigan and Wash. DC on tour with country music superstar George Strait when the episode airs, but she, her band and crew plan to have a viewing party on the road to watch the show.
