IN SUPPORT OF THEIR NEWLY RELEASED 'BLUE IS FOR GIRLS', THE GEMZ ALSO SIGNED CDS @ PURE GIRLS CLUB IN PLEASANTON

Florida-based pop group  The Gemz are dazzling their west coast fans at Kidsfaires across California. The tween group performed at Kidsfaire in Pleasanton , CA  on September 23rd and 24th, and are set to rock the stage twice each day on October 7th and 8th at Kidsfaire in Costa Mesa, CA. Kidsfaire, America 's Family Expo, brings together the very best family entertainment, acres of attraction, interactive pavilions, and miles of fun. For more information about Kidsfaire and its scheduled attractions, check out thekidsfaire.com . While in Pleasanton, The Gemz also dropped by Pure Girls Club to meet fans and sign CDs.

The hot five-member teen and pre-teen powerhouse group  just recently finished their summer northeast tour in support of Blue Is For Girls , which dropped nationally on June 6, 2006.

With their inimitable blend of exciting vocals, vibrant personalities and a fully choreographed live show—not to mention that magic, intangible “it” factor--The Gemz have achieved something few groups their age have: being cool and cutting edge enough to win over their own generation, while also winning a fan base of parents who just can't resist them and the positive spirit they convey.

In just three short years, The Gemz—whose lineup includes Samantha (16), Carlie (15), Sarah (14), Margaux (13), and Sammi Jack (11)—have truly become role models for their evergrowing fan base. They have performed hundreds of shows in dozens of cities coast to coast. They've entertained audiences for both Radio Disney and trade shows; have been featured on several TV shows including "Wifeswap" and MTV's "PoweR Girls"; have sung at prestigious sporting events, charity events, malls, record stores and, maybe the most fun for them, summer camps across the Northeast.

The title track, a true teen empowerment anthem for the current generation, and a cover of "Bop To The Top" (from the hit show "High School Musical") are already available for downloading at iTunes. "Blue Is For Girls" asserts that not all girls need to be pretty in pink, that it's important to be what you want to be and not let people influence you to be something you're not.

GEMZ ARE A GIRL'S BEST FRIEND:
MIAMI BASED TWEEN VOCAL POWERHOUSES SHARE WITH TEEN GIRLS THEIR TOP 10 “MUST-HAVES” FOR FALL AND WINTER

Everyone from Marilyn Monroe to Janet Jackson and Nicole Kidman has sung about diamonds being a girl's best friend, but the old adage is getting a major makeover thanks to The Gemz , a hot five-member teen and pre-teen vocal powerhouse group that's been wowing the crowds for the past three years.  With it being back-to-school season, these fun and fashionable girls are providing suggestions for what is hot this season.

On their album Blue Is For Girls, which was released earlier this summer, The Gemz sing about what girls love with the appropriately-titled lead-off track “Girls Love”.  Now they want to tell you what they love for the upcoming fall and winter seasons.  Samantha (16), Carlie (15), Sarah (14), Margaux (13) and Sammi-Jack (11) have each composed a list of ten items that are simply must-haves for every teen and pre-teen girl.  Parents, take note for your holiday shopping...

Samantha's 10 Must-Haves

1.     Phone – I always need to be in contact with everyone.  If it's not with me, I feel naked!  I am a master text messager by the way!

2.     My two necklaces - My lucky charms!  I wear both everyday.

3.     Hair Scrunchies - I can never keep my hair one way all day.  Either it's too hot or just boring.  I always have to keep changing and changing!

4.     Journal - I am lost if I don't have what I need to do written on paper.  Anytime I have any ideas or things to do, there's my journal.  It's my old-fashioned sidekick.

5.     My entire wardrobe – I'm all about comfort and mixing and matching.  I'd have to have the whole thing!

6.     The #1 breakfast in the world - Two eggs over easy with hash browns and a bagel and cream cheese.  I could have it for every meal, every day!

7.     Gemz CD - "Blue Is For Girls” is such a fun album for girls to dance and sing to!

8.     Mac Make-Up – It goes on smooth and looks good.  I can't live without it!

9.     iPod - It's great for listening to your favorite music anywhere, even when just relaxing at home.

10.    Laptop - It's nice to having for doing homework and keeping in touch with people while on the road.

Carlie's 10 Must-Haves

1.     Ballet Slippers - It seems that everyone has a pair of cute ballet slippers! I love the way they look!

2.     Best of Will Ferrell SNL DVD - Watching Will Ferrell always makes me laugh and nothing can put me in a better mood than Saturday Night Live.

3.     Shower Radio - I sing in the shower all the time, but I need some music to sing along with!

4.     Hair Straightener- I prefer my hair to be straight, especially since it's pretty short, so my hair being straight is a must.

5.     The new Justin Timberlake CD - I've always been a huge fan of him and his music, and he's just so talented. Of course I have to have his CD!

6.     Digital Camera - I love taking pictures! I take pictures of me and my friends all the time.  Editing them is probably more fun than actually taking them, for me.

7.     Cheez-Its - My favorite snack food! I have them on a regular basis.

8.     A huge but cute bag -  I need a multi-purpose purse that can fit everything... my sunglasses, wallet, iPod, cell phone, and even some of my books for school.

9.     Gold Locket - I really want a gold locket to carry around pictures of my friends and family. I want it big too so I can fit all of them!

10.    A pair of super comfy lounge pants - I wear my old pair way too much! I lounge around a lot so I definitely need a comfier pair to replace my worn out ones. A pair of comfy lounge pants always make a movie night complete!

Sarah's 10 Must-Haves

      1.     Gemz CD - I think you should always have a Gemz CD because we have a different flavor and style that kids of all ages would enjoy.

      2.     iPod- I loveeee music, and it's convenient if you're waiting in line at the drug store or if you just want to jam out and be a rock star on your own.

      3.     Basketball - I have been playing basketball for a very long time, and who knows when you're out and you just want to start playing a game.

      4.     Water - I think you should always have water with you to constantly keep hydrated, because it keeps you happy and healthy!

      5.     Hair Ties - I think every girl should always have hair ties, because in Miami it is very hot and you should always be comfortable.  Putting your hair up in a cute band or ribbon will make your style look awesome.

      6.      Snacks - I love food, so having a granola bar or trail mix in your bag is essential if you're constantly hungry.

      7.      Cell Phone - I think if you're old enough, keeping your cell phone with you at all times is very important because communication with your parents or siblings is important. Always let them know what you're up to.

      8.      Journal - I am very creative and outgoing, and sometimes I like to express my thoughts on paper. Keeping a pad, notebook or journal can be fun so you can doodle or write about your feelings.

      9.     Tide to Go - I think having Tide to Go is very important, because I am constantly spilling things and having the instant remover is perfect and on-the-go.

      10.    Sharpie - There have been times when I was walking around in school or the mall, and people will ask me for my autograph. Having a sharpie makes it easier for me to sign and for the person wanting the autograph.

Margaux's 10 Must-Haves

      1.     iPod - so you can listen to music anywhere.

      2.     A pair of dark skinny jeans - because they're cute and comfortable.

      3.     Laptop - so you can go online anywhere.

      4.    Blue Gatorade - because blue is for girls!

      5.     Ballet Flats - because they are so cute!

      6.     Cell Phone - so you can keep in touch with friends and family.

      7.     Jamba Juice - An all fruit smoothie, because it is healthy and delicious.

      8.     Lip Gloss - that's the only makeup a 13-year-old needs.

      9.     Small Purse - so you can store your money, cell phone and lip gloss in it.

      10.    Gemz CD - our music is awesome to sing and dance to, and we are great role models!

Sammi-Jack's 10 Must-Haves

1.     Lip Gloss by Mac - My favorite and the smoothest on your lips.

2.     Great Jeans - can't go anywhere without them!

3.     Mary-Kate and Ashley Accessories - Fun and inexpensive so you can buy a bunch of them.

4.     Cassette Wakeskate by Thomas Horrell - The best board to use, because it goes through the water well.

5.     iPod - It's all about music!

6.     Apple Computer - So easy to use! It's fun and light to carry.

7.    Gemz CD - Blue is for Girls is so great, gotta have one!

8.     Flat Ballet Shoes - comfy and chic!

9.     Sushi - It's my favorite food in the whole world.

10.   Cell Phone - have to keep in touch with friends while on tour.

GEMZ ARE A GIRL'S BEST FRIEND:
MIAMI-BASED TWEEN VOCAL POWERHOUSES SET FOR NORTHEAST TOUR IN SUPPORT OF THEIR NEWLY RELEASED ‘BLUE IS FOR GIRLS'

Radio Disney favorites – The Gemz are ready for their summer tour in support of their newly released Blue Is For Girls , which dropped nationally on June 6, 2006 . Their upcoming tour is set to hit sleepaway camps throughout the Northeast as well as fairs and parks throughout the Tri-State Area ( New York , Pennsylvania and New Jersey ). The Gemz are excited about debuting some of the sizzling new songs from their new album which followed a self-titled 2004 debut on StreetBeat Records.

Everyone from Marilyn Monroe to Janet Jackson and Nicole Kidman has sung about diamonds being a girl's best friend—and that's cool with Samantha, at 16 the oldest member of The Gemz who claims that as a birthstone.

GEMZ ARE A GIRL'S BEST FRIEND :
MIAMI BASED TWEEN VOCAL POWERHOUSES SHOW THEIR TRUE COLORS ON ‘BLUE IS FOR GIRLS,' SET FOR RELEASE JUNE 6

Everyone from Marilyn Monroe to Janet Jackson and Nicole Kidman has sung about diamonds being a girl's best friend—and that's cool with Samantha, at 16 the oldest member of The Gemz who claims that as a birthstone. But the old adage is getting a major makeover thanks to the hot five-member teen and pre-teen (thanks to youngest member, Sammi Jack, 11) vocal powerhouse group that's been wowing the crowds for the past three years.

In just three short years, The Gemz—whose lineup also includes Carlie (15), Sarah (14) and Margaux (13)—have truly become role models for their evergrowing fan base.

The momentum continues this summer with an upcoming summer tour set to hit sleepaway camps throughout the Northeast as well as fairs and parks throughout the Tri-State Area (New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey). The Gemz are excited about debuting some of the sizzling new songs from Blue Is For Girls , their second album following a self-titled 2004 debut on StreetBeat Records, which is due to drop nationally June  6.

The title track, a true teen empowerment anthem for the current generation, and a cover of “Bop To The Top” (from the hit show "High School Musical") are already available for downloading at iTunes. “Blue Is For Girls” asserts that not all girls need to be pretty in pink, that it's important to be what you want to be and not let people influence you to be something you're not.

Overall, the Gemz music has evolved just as the girls have, yet the songs continue to offer positive messages of spirit, goals, friendship and of course, girl power.

“We have a lot of input into our sound,” says Carlie (birthstone: sapphire). “Our producers find the songs and show them to us, but if we're not crazy about them, we keep looking. If we connect, it's a go. Everything is a mutual decision. It's great to have this kind of input and work as a team.”

“Our favorite part of what's happening is getting out there and meeting all of our fans,” says Sarah (birthstone: ruby). “I think they enjoy our originality, and the way we bring a different perspective to girls and even boys our own age.” Samantha thinks the key to The Gemz' appeal is that “we have a wide range of ages, so there's someone that kids in each age group can identify with. “I'm right in the middle of old and young,” adds Margaux (birthstone: emerald). “What people like also is that we get along like sisters, and really never fight. We're there to help each other every step of the way.”

Sarah adds, “I think it's easy for fans to think every member of a group is the same, but once they get to know us, they realize we all have unique personalities that stand out. I'm the sporty tomboy, Samantha is a dancer, Sammi Jack is a real girly girl…”

Margaux: “And I'm the fashionista who designs a lot of the clothes The Gemz wear.” Sammi Jack (birthstone: topaz): “And the outfits look amazing!” Margaux: “Now, Carlie, on the other hand, she's the funniest one of us…”

Carlie interjects: “I like to make everybody laugh. They call me the tour comedian. That's part of what makes this fun, I have the best time with the other Gemz, and we have formed such an intense bond. Plus, each of us just loves performing. It's really a great privilege to do what I love with four of my best friends! The other girls are amazing!”

Sammi Jack: “We just love being together in general. The summer tours are the best! We know a show is going great when the crowd is going wild. We want to bring a positive message to kids from 11-16 and even older, and want them to appreciate us as singers but also role models.”

Samantha completes her “younger sister”'s thought: “It's definitely a big responsibility for us, but we have wonderful role models ourselves in our parents, who we all look up to and who really encourage us. We love the fact that the parents of our fans like us, too.

“You know what it's all about?” Samantha adds. “We're The Gemz. We shine and each have our own unique qualities that we bring to the group. Our mission is to encourage the kids out there to shine on their own as well.”
