SINGER/SONGWRITER MALEA MCGUINNESS OPENED FOR ROCK ICON DONOVAN AT THE COACH HOUSE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
February has been a busy month for singer/songwriter Malea McGuinness (www.myspace.com/maleamcg). She had the opportunity to open for rock icon Donovan on February 8th at the Coach House in Southern California. The sold out audience got to hear McGuinness perform cuts from her album True Believer including the debut single “Sweet Light” (which reached #3 on the national radio charts.) According to McGuinness, "It's an honor to play on the same stage as one of the icons of folk music/rock. His music has lasted because he wrote great songs and they're still relevant today. He's influenced so many musicians including myself."
Then on February 19th, McGuinness' Los Angeles fans got to see her perform live at Los Angeles Music Club The Mint. The video for “Sweet Light' is currently in rotation on MTV Asia and other video outlets. She is also going to make a live appearance on MTV World next month. McGuinness is currently working on a TV pilot entitled “Koreatown Music,” a music video show geared toward American and Korean audiences. The program will be syndicated to TV stations in the United States and Korea.
