Lorrie
Morgan's Personal Manager Burt Stein Responds to Lawsuit
"Lorrie Morgan is hurt
and offended by this extraneous and frivolous lawsuit. I can assure you
she is completely innocent of any wrongdoing and her attorney Ben Harrison
of Cornelius and Collins will prove that in court. There is without question
another agenda in play by the plaintiffs."

IMAGE ENTERTAINMENT CULTIVATES LORRIE MORGAN'S
THE COLOR OF ROSES ON DVD, VHS, CD AND CASSETTE
The
Color of Roses, Lorrie Morgans first ever live concert recording,
just released to great acclaim recently by Image Entertainment on DVD,
VHS and a double disc CD and audiocassette, will be featured by Direct
TV as their Free View Concert in April. The Color of Roses
concert will run every weekend in April starting Fridays at 6 a.m. until
6 a.m. each of the following Mondays. The first weekend of Free View Concerts
for Lorrie Morgan will start this Friday April 5th.
Morgan says, "For years
I've been wanting to offer a live concert recording, and I never really
had the opportunity. This just felt like the right time to do it. All
the pieces just fell into place."
The Color of Roses concert
boasts Morgan's brilliant performance at Nashville's Tennessee Performing
Arts Center with a full orchestra. In addition, Charles Callelo, one of
the original Four Seasons, was Morgan's musical director for this multi-hued
concert extravaganza. The event was directed by Don Carr.
Though Image Entertainment,
long recognized as the market leader in music video long form and DVD,
has an extensive catalogue of nearly 1800 DVD titles with 400-plus that
are music-related across the entire range of genres, this is only the
second time that the worldwide licensing, distribution and production
company has ventured into the compact disc arena with a country music
artist. The first was earlier in 2001 with Randy Travis Live, which,
as with Morgan, was also released on DVD and VHS. Image Entertainment,
however, has released an audio-only component in several other genres.

IMAGE
ENTERTAINMENT CULTIVATES LORRIE MORGAN'S
THE
COLOR OF ROSES ON
DVD, VHS, CD AND CASSETTE
In
her decade-long career, Lorrie Morgan has commercially released 26 albums,
eight singles, and three videos. That number is about to grow even
larger when Image Entertainment releases Morgan's first-ever live concert
recording, The Color of Roses, on DVD, VHS and a double
disc CD and audio cassette set on March 12. The title track will
go to radio in early January, 2002.
Morgan
says, "For years I've been wanting to offer a live concert recording,
and I never really had the opportunity. This just felt like the
right time to do it. All the pieces just fell into place."
The
formats will be sold separately, with the audio-only 2-CD component boasting
Morgan's performance at Nashville's Tennessee Performing Arts Center on
the first disc, and two studio recordings with a full orchestra ("The
Color of Roses" and a cover of Kris Kristofferson's "Help Me
Make It Through the Night") on the second disc, along with an exclusive
interview. The project was produced by Sandy Linzer and Charles
Callelo, of the production powerhouse, Linzer-Callelo. In addition,
Callelo, one of the original Four Seasons, was Morgan's musical director
for this multi-hued concert extravaganza. The event was directed
by Don Carr.
Morgan
comments enthusiastically, "I loved working with Charlie, and thought,
'This is the perfect opportunity, because these people are perfectionists
and so am I.'"
In
addition to Morgan signatures, "Something in Red," "Go
Away" and many others performed with her band, Morgan displays an
affinity for Broadway show tunes and standards, finessing Rodgers &
Hammerstein ("My Favorite Things"), Frank Sinatra ("Fly
Me to the Moon"), Billie Holiday ("Good Morning Heartache")
and even Doris Day ("Secret Love"), backed by Nashville's Belmont
University School of Music Orchestra.
Morgan reveals, "I love, love workin' with orchestras.
When the symphony joins in, it just wraps around me."
Image
Entertainment vice president of marketing Garrett M. Lee observes, "She's
done material that will be new and surprising to her fans, so this is
far more than a live greatest hits collection."
Though
Image Entertainment, long recognized as the market leader in music video
long form and DVD, has an extensive catalogue of upwards of 1600 DVD titles
with 400-plus that are music-related across the entire range of genres,
this is only the second time that the worldwide licensing, distribution
and production company has ventured into the compact disc arena with a
country music artist. The first was earlier in 2001 with Randy
Travis Live, which, as with Morgan, was also released on DVD and VHS.
Image Entertainment, however, has released an audio-only component in
several other genres.
As
for gaining additional ground in country music CDs, Lee comments, "We
saw what Lorrie Morgan's fan base is. We have the opportunity to
do an awful lot of artists, and we always look at what fits best for us.
What's great about Lorrie is that we learned a lot about this market with
Randy Travis. Once you have one success, which we feel most definitely
we did with Randy Travis, it made it that much easier to take on the Lorrie
Morgan project."
Image
Entertainment's CD release of Morgan's The Color of Roses further
cultivates the company's credibility in the format.
Lee
states, "It will let people know that if they come to Image Entertainment
with a product, then we can run with it in all formats.
We already have between a 26 and 27 per cent market share of the music
DVD business. And for a company like Image, which isn't affixed
to any stable of talent, that's a phenomenal track record," Lee points
out.
In
a stroke of poetic marketing genius that designates Image Entertainment
as a full-bloom multi-format player, Image has locked down a cross-promotion
with 1-800-FLOWERS in conjunction with The Color of Roses, in which
a discount coupon will be included with the home video and audio releases.
Ahhhh,
the sweet smell of success.
