LAUNCHES UNIVERSAL MOVEMENT FOR WORLD PEACE AND CELEBRATES UNITY THROUGH DIVERSITY WITH THE INSPIRING, CROSS-CULTURAL ANTHEM
“LOVE SEES NO COLOR”
INTERNATIONAL RECORDING ARTIST NASSIRI TO PERFORM HIS UPLIFTING ‘ LOVE SEES NO COLOR ' WORLD PEACE CONCERT IN CAPE TOWN , SOUTH AFRICA ON OCTOBER 7, 2006
“Love sees no color, no race no religion/We are the same as the rays from the sun/Love sees no color no race no religion/Only through love can we live as one.”
Can these four simple, beautiful lines change the world and make it a more peaceful and tolerant place? Will this inspiring poetry -- written and sung by an intensely spiritual world traveler -- have the power to affect positive change?
Singer-songwriter and international recording artist Nassiri , who wrote the gorgeous, emotionally resonant and instantly infectious anthem “Love Sees No Color,” says, “Music is my mission, and my mission is love. My music is intended to transcend all ages, genders and, as the song says, races and religions to create a harmonized, peaceful world.”
More than simply the transcendent and emotional centerpiece and title track of his upcoming debut CD,“Love Sees No Color” is the springboard for a movement of global proportions which will go a long way towards healing so many on this fragile planet. The song's visually stunning, richly produced video--which Nassiri shot in Nevada 's Red Rock Canyon with numerous local schoolchildren, dressed in gold robes and waving flags of their native or ancestral lands--has already aired on Oprah, Larry King and numerous cable networks.
In a historic moment for the cause of world peace, Nassiri will launch his spectacular “ Love Sees No Color World Peace Tour ” at the prestigious Velodrome in Cape Town , South Africa on October 7, 2006 .
“The Spirit of Ubuntu” as referred to in South Africa , will feature Nassiri's visually stunning concert performance that will also embrace participation by South African artists such as dancers, musicians, production and special guest performers and speakers. More details will be announced soon and at www.nassirimusic.com .
In addition to “Love Sees No Color,” Nassiri will sing his just completed anthem “Woman,” a song that ties in with the country's celebration of Women's Empowerment Month and was created to inspire and pay homage to women throughout the world.
Reflecting on the upcoming event, Nassiri explains, “I am greatly honored to be invited by the glorious people of South Africa . I truly feel with all my heart that the international community will be motivated by this day of music and compassion to embrace the virtues of ‘Love Sees No Color.' My mission is one of peace and love. My music is intended to transcend all ages, genders and as the song says, ‘races and religions' to create a harmonized, peaceful world. I simply wrote the song, but the people of South Africa live ‘Love Sees No Color' every day of their lives.”
Among the enormously positive, highly emotional responses from the public over the airing of the video of “Love Sees No Color” were hundreds of emails of praise and encouragement from teachers, music and otherwise—many of whom asked if they could use the song in classrooms to complement their teaching of tolerance to students. This fall, the Clark County School District in Southern Nevada is planning to incorporate “Love Sees No Color” into its current curriculum as part of a larger ethnic diversity program at all levels, from elementary through high school. Once the program is initiated in the Clark County School System, Nassiri and his organization intend to take the program statewide, then to a national and international level.
Nassiri has always been a dreamer with the talent and energy to turn his youthful fantasies into powerful, life-changing realities. A true embodiment of the great American dream, he arrived years ago from his native Persia to the United States without knowing a word of English. Within a few years in Los Angeles , he was one of Beverly Hills ' most in demand stylists for such stars as The Four Tops, Temptations, et al. The trendsetter and innovator's next conquest was the fashion world. He settled in the glittery playland of Las Vegas , where he created and nurtured Nassiri's Starwood Men's and Ladies Clothing, which was modeled after the offerings of prestigious shops on Rodeo Drive and the exclusive shopping areas of New York and Paris . The “ Las Vegas Sun” called Nassiri—who later became a wholesale distributor—“the man who dresses the stars.” Backstage Magazine called him “the E.F. Hutton of Las Vegas fashion.”
None of this success, however, could distract him from his true creative calling of music. When he was a child, Nassiri would sit on the banks of the Caspian Sea and listen closely to the tinny sound of his transistor radio as it played the music of many world cultures at a place many consider to be the crossroads of the world. For Nassiri, these carefree days came to define a lifetime of dreams, as the music he heard ignited his passions and lifelong desire to be a singer and songwriter.
“Music is all about creating a good vibration, and in order for this vibration to heal you, you must listen to it with a pure state of mind, body and soul,” he says. “I love when someone tells me that my music has helped heal or transform them in a positive way. I want to appeal to the listener's minds and consciousness. Where there was hatred, let there be love. And where there is love, there is peace, and where there is peace, there is harmony, which leads to compassion. Songs have always been considered the link between humanity and God. It is my humble blessing to receive inspiration and become a messenger for peace in this world.”
