PATSY CLINE DOES "DUETS" IN HOLLYWOOD

Die-hard Patsy Cline fans and the media were treated to an exclusive listening party to hear the much-anticipated PATSY CLINE DUETS CD, to be released September 14, 1999, on Private I/Mercury Records.

The listening party, held at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, took place immediately following the long-overdue presentation of a Patsy Cline star on the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The official Patsy Cline Fan Club members, including Patsy’s widower Charlie Dick, their daughter Julie Fudge along with the grandkids, in addition to being the first ones to hear the new songs, were given a scientific explanation of the unique recording process by Michael Blakey, the album’s producer. There was also a demonstration of the Enhanced CD-ROM aspects of DUETS that will include lyric sheets, video footage, graphics, rare photos and many more goodies.

The songs, feature Patsy’s legendary vocals, matched perfectly alongside new note-by-note recordings with such stars as Glen Campbell, John Berry, Crystal Gayle, Willie Nelson, Bob Carlisle, Waylon Jennings, Michelle Wright, Mia Mason and Beth Nielson Chapman.

All involved with the DUETS project at the listening party were pleased with the wildly enthusiastic applause after each number and completely validated at the end of the album by a standing ovation from Patsy’s family and fan club members.
