The Louisiana Bred, New Mexico-Based Vocal Powerhouse—Who Recently Released Her Self-Titled Independent Debut— Is Also Set To Perform At A Private Function For The Santa Fe Rape Crisis & Trauma Treatment Center April 26

Proving once again that Nashville is not the only place on the map where country music rocks, rising New Mexico based vocal powerhouse Rebecca Owen and her band Open Road are set to shake up Albuquerque's Cowboys Country Nightclub all three nights this coming weekend: Thursday March 27, Friday March 28 and Saturday March 29.

The shows run from 9:30 p.m. to close each night. Cowboys is located at 9800 4 Montgomery NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111.

Owen and Open Road, regular performers at Cowboys—widely known as the “largest honky tonk in the state”--will be performing tracks from her recently released self-titled independent debut album in addition to their favorite cover material by popular country artists Sugarland, Keith Urban, Martina McBride, Toby Keith, Jamie O'Neal, Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley and more.

Rebecca Owen, which was produced by Country Music Association nominee Johnny Mulhair (who helmed LeAnn Rimes' first two CDs), features a mix of dynamic original material and exciting new versions of well known classics like Hank Williams, Sr.'s “My Heart Would Know,” Lucinda Williams' “I Lost It” and Rodney Crowell's “I Ain't Living Long Like This.” Owen and Open Road played at Cowboys in February to celebrate the release of the album.

Her status as a regional sensation secured by an hour long, live on air performance of songs from her debut on KSFR in Santa Fe, Owen also has a growing worldwide audience thanks to the many hits on her myspace page ( www.myspace.com/rebeccaowencountry ), where her high kickin' track “Sidewinder”—the opening cut on Rebecca Owen--has earned over 2000 plays, and her success on the Australian based website www.101fm.asn.au , where she has earned an overwhelming response and was a featured artist earlier this year.

Confirmed upcoming gigs for the Louisiana bred, New Mexico based Owen includes a private function for the Santa Fe Rape Crisis & Trauma Treatment Center April 26.

Owen is well known in the artist friendly town of Santa Fe, where she and her band have done numerous shows to raise money for the city's rape crisis center and Silver Bullet Productions, a company that goes into rural areas to teach kids about filmmaking via impromptu documentaries of their daily lives.

The singer, who once played the House of Blues sponsored Country & Blues Fest outside of New Orleans, is a regular presence on the fair circuit, with two consecutive appearances at the New Mexico State Fair. Last year, she opened for singer Jack Ingram at the fair's rodeo event—performing on the same state as Emerson Drive —and in 2006, she opened for Little Big Town .
